Today I woke up at noon again and ended up going downtown to meet a friend in chinatown. It was a guy I knew online and I was kinda nervous. Then he was late to the pagoda gates! Well, first I got there way early since I didn't know exactly where it was. Then I went off to the side to wait. Try finding an Asian guy you've never met before in a sea of Asian people. I so badly wanted to prove "they all look alike" wrong. Technically I did. So 2:30 passed, and that was when he said to be there. I was like..hmm...then I peeked in chinatown and walked through, scanning everyone. Then I noticed there's another entrance on the other side! It's like a giant hallway with a ton of Asian restaurants on each side. So I looked around at that gate and didn't see any guy waiting. I turned back and walked through again. After getting back to the other gate, I glanced around again. I saw this guy standing there and looked at him. He looked at me. I thought it was him, but I wasn't sure. I also didn't like the fact that I could have been staring at a random guy! So I looked away and walked past and back to where I waited before. Then I stopped and waited. Luckily I was right, and he noticed and came up to me. A lot easier finding a lone American I bet!
After that it wasn't too awkward. We walked to a nearby coffee shop. He got an iced coffee and I got a strawberry smoothie. We just talked about our lives and it was a good time. Only awkward when we ran out of things to say, then we scrambled for more and eventually found stuff. I think we were there until 4:15 about. He was nice and paid for my smoothie. He studies at University of New South Wales and wants to be a doctor. Cool guy. Probably won't ever see him again though. Never know. He pointed me out in the direction of the train station so I wouldn't get lost. I walked around a bit trying to find it before I got there, after all.
Road the train back, walked a little bit back and then I saw Doug, Sonja, Jenny, and Alex (Aussie guy that doesn't live with us all) in nice clothes. I guess they were going to the Wesley concert they were singing in. Cool. Then I took about 5 steps towards home before I saw a van with Ish in it. It was Donn driving to Hillsong! I didn't know what time they were gonna leave so I hoped I'd get back in time to change and still go, but I guess not! So I made a quick decision to hop in the van while they were at a red light, and away we went. I wasn't really dressed for the occasion, but oh well. I missed Hillsong. It was a prayer service the entire 1-1:30 long. I was tired standing up that whole time. It was really good though. I got a good feeling about my dad and felt that I didn't need to worry about him. I am thankful for that. At one point they had all the American students go up on stage in the front and we all prayed for the economy. They let 3 students pray with the mics even. I didn't go up for 3 reasons though. 1) lazy. 2) i was farther than most of them. they were practically already there! and 3) i think they were all from hillsong college.
After that, we drove home and I messed around with my iPod more and on the computer a little. I helped Alvin out with my old iPod since I sold it to him. The rate went to .62 so I have so far made a wise decision...
