New iPod!

That's the most exciting thing of today.

So last night the exchange rate went down the tubes. For Australia. .61! I couldn't believe it. I checked it first thing in the afternoon when I woke up and it was still stuck on .61! So I resolved...that I needed an iPod. A touch, 16gb. My email devotional made me laugh. It was about seizing the opportunities and not procrastinating. Do things NOW! I think I misinterpreted it...haha.

So I asked people around here where to get one. There is an Apple seller by the Burwood bus stop and the only other place I know is the fancy huge Apple store downtown. They told me JB HiFi would have it cheaper. I looked online to see it was $4 cheaper at $415 instead of Apple.com's listed $419 (in AUS) so Angela and I went. It seems like we are the only people that want to get out of the house and are actually around the house to do so. Ash tagged along since he was going to a beer tasting festival downtown also.

Too bad the traintracks were getting stuff done to them. We took a train to the main terminal (a lot like Grand Central Terminal in NYC) and that was fine. We walked a ton to the place and luckily found it. My legs are sore now and I'll sleep well tonight. I accidentally wore pants. It warmed up a lot since yesterday. Huge mistake. I got the iPod first thing and was so excited. My mood hasn't been this high in awhile. I made sure not to open it before we got back and I could check my bank account to see if I really did pay what I thought, with the transfer rate. $415 AUS (tax is included in the price) turned out to be $259.51 in USD. At home it would be $300+tax. Sweet.

After JB, we walked to the Circular Quay (pronounced "key") and Ash went his way. Angela and I finally got to the Botanical Gardens by the Opera House. I had no idea what to expect. The place was gigantic. I took pics and will put them up tomorrow. After getting there, 10 minutes into the walking around, we saw Saskia and Selina, the Swiss girls! How crazy seeing people we knew from home in such a random spot! It was amazing with how huge the gardens were. They were going to a concert.

After we were done with that, we walked and found a place near the train station that had buses lined up to replace the trains. It was packed, and we went to the terminal place again, before riding a train back to Strathfield and walking the rest back. Once home, I had to play with iPod, which I've been doing mostly the rest of the day. I didn't have much of a dinner, just leftovers. As far as movies that have been playing while I messed around, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the Happening were in.

Tomorrow I'm gonna try to go to chinatown to meet someone I know. We'll see how that goes. Hope I can find it!
