Don't forget to read the post below about Spiro Camp!
Here are the many ways I don't fit in:
I'm an American in Australia. A minority as soon as I left LAX.
35ish Americans came to Australia in a program called ASC. They're from Christian Colleges (CCC) from across the states.
6 Americans came to Australia from Bethel. I'm in the smaller group.
The other Bethel students are either: studying music and/or drama already, or interested in music and/or drama. I study literature. Of all the arts that Wesley offers classes in, that's not one of them. No place for me to go.
Of all the Wesley students from abroad EVER, I'm the first to also go to UTS for a class. It's on Wednesdays, during "The Gathering" which is where the school gets together to do...stuff. I'm not sure because I've always been gone.
Of all the people in my UTS class, I'm the only one NOT attempting to be an English teacher in the future. Yet again I slip through the cracks and don't fit in.
Everyone has a focus at Wesley. Mine is just Theology and I'm only taking 2 classes in that area. And only because it doesn't require artistic talent that I would lack.
*sigh*
But I make it work. Or, I have so far. Though it sure is a struggle.
