Slept In

I slept in a lot today. I ate and talked with some people and saw the last 20 mins of a movie before going to church. This time I went to a smaller one that's not as huge as Hillsong. It was nice. As a visitor I got a free milkshake!

Oh I also did my weekend duty of cleaning the bathroom...

Did you know the letter 'Z' is not pronounced "zee" here? It's "zed" instead. Ridiculous. But of course I'm going to try to use that in my speech at home if I can. "My name is spelled zed-ay-see-kay." Awesome.

So globalisation. Some people think it's rubbish, but it's not. It can be a very colourful topic, and some people regard it as their favourite. I had to let down the armour of my mind before I embraced this topic.

The world is so small, it's unbelievable. Marketing gets everywhere. I think I wanted to come to Australia because I wanted to escape the system and get away as far as possible from it all. I wanted a new mindset or a different perspective away from so much advertising. I didn't escape in the end. That's not a bad thing though. More on this tomorrow maybe.

Studying Abroad makes you:
1) Appreciate the best parts of back home that you took for granted
2) Realize how stupid back home can be when they do things a rudimentary way compared to where you are
3) Open your mind, take in a new experience daily, and try to keep that feeling when you get back home

A free milkshake? In church?? I've got to move to Australia. All I get here is a nametag and a handshake.

I've heard other countries use "zed" instead of "zee".
