Today I slept in and went downtown with Angela (Bethel student) and Ish (Zimbabwe). We went to the 3 story Apple store. It was awesome. They had a ton of iStuff and we didn't really mess around with it that much. The elevators, buttons for the elevators, and stairs were all so...sleek. The button blended right into the wall and was smooth silver. The elevator was sleek and small too. The stairs were clear and translucent. You couldn't see straight through them, because it was blurry. You could at an angle through the cracks though, so it was interesting seeing the people above you walking up while you walked down, underneath them. Quite the experience. I'm sad that the iPod I have my eyes on next is $400. Very sad indeed.
Before we went there, we stopped at the Queen Victoria Building which is not what you think it is. It's basically a mall. But...it's in a way that makes me have to go back with my camera. It's all...old fashiony and stuff. Lamps instead of flourescents, carpet on some floors, it was marvelous. We went to a store called Hobbyco. because my photography recommended it for miniature stuff for our projects. I saw something I could use, but it was in a huge set for $33 so I didn't get anything. Oh well, it was a cool store still! The teacher has stuff I can borrow anyways. I'm not worried.
After that we were going to go to the beach, but it was waaaaaay too cold so I convinced them to go another day. We stopped at a grocery store and I stocked up on sweets...and chips. (btw, "chips" in Australia are french fries) I'm still American and I got DORITOS CHIPS, not FRENCH FRIES. So yeah.
Then we went home and had dinner (leftovers) and we watched Bridget Jones's Diary which is a retelling of Pride & Prejudice (which I watched last night for class) and it was pretty good. Then after that we watched Monty Python's Life of Brian. Then after that we watched The Truman Show. Then after that everyone went to bed. A little later, Emily got back and put in a movie and watched the last third or so of it. An Aussie film, I watched on and off. Now I'm here, about to go to bed too.
