Today I Wasted Time!

Oh wow, today was...so bad.

Yesterday I was told about this thing called "Mascot" and Bernard, the guy that maintains the house and hostel where I live, tried to explain it to me. He doesn't speak English the best, but I picked up the following things:
-We would leave in the morning
-They were going to show us videos about programs they offered to help us gain vocational skills
-They would give us lunch and then we would go home, at about 1:30

Unfortunately for me, none of this was true.

Adding to the misinformation, I thought someone told me we were leaving at 11:15, when we were actually leaving at 10:30. I got up at 10:15. But I made it on time and we ended up waiting for the guy that misinformed me until 10:50 when we departed. So we were late and had to pick up more people I didn't know for this romp.

We finally got there and ended up walking up 5 levels of a parking ramp. We got inside and sat down. They were playing a video. They stopped it and we ate some snacks. They told us we needed to fill out forms to give them permission to use our likeness since they were going to film us. Ok...why film people watching videos?

Then they said, watch this video about Wesley Institue (where I go to class and know everything about that was in the video) and this is an example of what we're filming you for, although we won't do interviews. Ok...so now I'm acting like I'm a student at a place where I'm not. To represent the multi-nationalities of there. And they got people that don't go there. Great. At least it's only for a couple hours.

Wrong. After the example video, we had lunch. It was good, I will admit. The only good part about the time there was the food. After lunch, we went to random places to be filmed including: a room with computers ("ok now type some more, maybe use the mouse, pretend like you're doign work"), benches outside ("sit 2-3 per bench and talk amongst yourselves, go up and greet another bench"), picnic tables ("here, take this binder and pretend like you're studying with a group"), the elevator ("ok all go this way and down the hallway, now I'll get a shot of you leaving the elevator"), the entrance ("all of you walk in a group and go in the door"), and we had to redo a scene because we had no idea where we were going. Probably because we don't go to that school!

This lasted for way longer than I thought. We ended up getting back at 5! I could have been reading or sleeping or not wasting my time as much!

After that, leftover dinner, some TV, and now bloggeranging.

Cheers. I hope tomorrow is better...
