Today I woke up and everyone decided to go into town to a shopping center. It was pretty huge, a lot like the Mall of America, but all the stores were not American. A lot of Asian places like Chinatown. I had Asian for lunch. Some of the people I'm with tried bubble tea and I had that in New York so I saved my money this time.
As we were walking around, we passed by the movie theater in the mall. We saw that the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight was playing at 2:10 in the afternoon. That was in less than an hour. But there were some people that wanted to go back to the place where we live, so we ended up walking back with them, dropping them off, and walking right back to the mall. We bought our tickets before we left though, just in case. $12 for a student here! It's rough. (when I converted my money, it was 1:1 ratio without a fee. With a fee is like 1: .96 and $7 fee.)
Came back, saw the 3:10 showing on the 16th (it comes out the 18th in USA!) with 2 other Americans, a Zimbabwean, and a Singaporean. The movie was amazing. The theater was great too. You know the part of the theater with the seats up really close? This theater didn't have that. Just empty space with carpet and seats started a bit further back. Smart.
The mall had escalator RAMPS. People on wheelchairs could go up them. We need those at home.
So far I have bought a surge protector thingy since I have only 2 outlets total, a plugin adaptor, an alarm clock, and a watch.
We can fix our own breakfast with the food they provide such as bread/toast, cereal, and juice. We can make our own lunch with whatever we buy, or a sandwich. For dinner the woman that lives there cooks for us. It's really nice. We all have a week unlimited travel pass. When it runs out, we'll get another, and so on. This counts for bus, train, and ferry. That's a relief.
Tomorrow is orientation at the school!
I promise pictures...soon.

Wow... everything seems so awesome.... and different
I dislike this whole "I get to see TDK before you, and it was awesome, nyah" thing.
But at least you're having fun. And it sounds expensive... so nyah right back to you.
LOL at the theater comment. I find it amusing to note that the theaters back home are better than the ones over here. Like, we have reserved seating, recline-able chairs where you can choose to lift the arm rest if you want to snuggle up to the person next to you and yes, that carpeted space that would have you too close to the screen if they put chairs in. ;)
PS. What is up with you and leaving cameras?? LOL
