Today we went to the school for orientation. That was from 8:30am to 5pm about. Fun.
I am now enrolled in my classes so that's good. I'm taking 2 classes with the head of the Theology department and I'll have to drop one. I am taking over the maximum that Bethel allows, so yeah. No problem though, less work for me and more time to focus on my other courses hopefully. I'm taking another theology course taught by the principal's (who is an American that moved here in 1988 I think) wife so that should be good. I'm taking a theater history course and apparently the teacher is "quite the character" so we'll see about that.
And then there's this literature course I'm taking at the University of Sydney. I'm deathly afraid of that one. A super huge school, going there by myself downtown, crazy.
A few more differences I've noticed. The amount of junky vehicles is so much smaller that I've seen. They don't have salt on the road so rust doesn't happen, but I've hardly seen cars that even look old. Their toilet flusher is not a lever, but a button on the back tank top, in the middle. But at school there were 2 flat buttons on the wall behind the toilet. I wasn't sure which to press and I was scared, but the one I pressed worked...
Some roads have speeding limits drawn in paint on the roads themselves. Their speeding limit signs don't say "Speed Limit" either, they just have the km/h number inside a red circle. It took me a few days to realize it wasn't just the street number. I was confused because I knew there couldn't be that many 50th streets!
Their cereals are different too. At the "house" (I'll call it that from now on) they have Raisin Bran but it's called Saltana Bran. Strange. They have corn flakes like normal. They have these slightly sweetened biscuit type things that I like. They sell milk and juice by the liter. The government has posed a water usage cap also. I haven't been warned about it so I don't think it's that big of a deal.
I have taken only 5 pictures so far. Here they can be found: HERE.
I will try to get the World Youth Day pictures from someone that brought their camera that day.

That's like how the toilets were when I went to Japan. I think one of the buttons is for #1 and one is for #2.
