Open Minded Wins!

So I woke up at 9:30 with my iPod as my new alarm clock.

I went to UTS, watching videos on my iPod whenever I wasn't walking, and listening to music when I was. Good times!

Looks like I bought it at the right time, too! The rate is up to .649 now...

The bus was sorta late to take me to the train station. The train I rode also made a ton of stops before Central (downtown) and I didn't think it would take as long as it did. The tracks were down last weekend for repair, but at least they were up today. I thought I would be late today! I sped walked down the tunnel downtown and I've never walked that fast. My legs burned. I should speed walk at home to keep strong.

The shuttle bus at UTS normally leaves at 11:32 and gets where I need to be at 12:14 according to the schedule and my past experience. I really hustled to make it on time and got there just a few minutes early luckily. But it ended up leaving at 11:48 anyways! So I would've made it if I strolled along. Oh well. It was raining all day today so maybe that had something to do with it. We still got there at 12:14.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the bathrooms at UTS have numbers on the door. How crazy. Room numbers on the bathrooms. So weird.

The computers were all taken and they didn't have wireless so I watched more videos on my iPod while I ate my lunch. Eventually time rolled around for class and I went. Only 1 other girl was there after 20 minutes of waiting. She hasn't been there in over a month of classes. She missed last week and the first half of the movie which was last week (it's not that bad, she is kind of annoying...and I guess she was in the hospital keeping up with her work but they made her go to class to get credit). So the substitute asked if I wanted to stay. I said not if I was the only one (it was pointless for the other girl to stay) so he said we could go early. So I caught the shuttle back right away and ended up home at 2:45 instead of the normal 5:00.

I came to the common room and enjoyed a little peace and quiet before Jenny joined and put in Made of Honor in. I forgot to put it in my blog, but we watched that last night. Not a bad movie. I also forgot to mention another prank. They put vegetable oil in the scrubber. That is hard to clean up. I also learned today they tilted a picture on the wall, put a sticky note on another picture, moved some stuff around, switched some plates in the cubbyholes (not mine).

I did more music library fine tuning today, podcast watching, more figuring out how I'm going to get clips for my presentation, and watched some TV while doing this.

After class tomorrow I have nothing to do. This weekend I have no plans. I think it looks like it will rain. That's what the iPod says at least. Weather back home is similar but colder, it looks like.

Oh the title! I tried Vegemite finally! It's pure yeast extract and purely Australian. They spread it on top of toast with butter. I have heard it's horrible and wanted to taste it. Aussies say it's an aquired taste even. It's salty and has a weird taste. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, like how a lot of Americans see it (probably because they put a lot on). I don't think I'll have it ever again though...

I also tried Nutella stuff. It wasn't that brand but it was that hazelnut spread. I was always afraid of the hazelnut bit of it since I hate nuts and didn't know it was chocolatey. Now that I tried it, I love it!

There is a Halloween party I guess, on Friday night. I suppose I could go to that. But that means dressing up. I'm so lazy. And it's run by someone from the ASC program and I haven't really gotten to know most of them. Some yes, but not the one running it really.

Oh the paradoxes I live with. In my room I can get things done. But the internet is slow. Even if the things I need to do don't involve the internet, just not having internet bothers me enough to come over to the common room, where the internet is fast. But in the common room, there is a TV and if someone's in the room, it's always on. I intended to watch a ton of movies I have on my computer over this semester. I have had the time of course, but yet I'm always sucked into whatever is on this TV. Usually it's stuff I don't want to watch. But I come for the internet. I end up not getting much done because I get sucked into whatever's on. I just can't win. Although, I have best of both worlds at home...which is one thing I'm looking forward to.

It's interesting to note that I don't miss the shower at home anymore. I've gotten used to the one here most likely. I assume that when I get home, the high water pressure is going to be such a huge change for me. It will be like water bullets shooting out of the faucet at home. And no cold draft coming from the window, that will be nice.

Home is looking nice now. 17 days left. Tick tock, here I come, emotional rollercoaster...here I come.

And I just changed my laptop DVD player's region code for my project. First step to success! I hope...
