My day started off with going to Wesley even though I didn't have class. Vivian asked me to help her out with some picture taking of an iron (ironing clothes iron). So I didn't think anyone else would, so I said I could do that. We got there a little before 9, bummed around a little, then went to the photography room before there was a class at 10. Last time she took pictures of the iron, she used light from a window in that room and the iron turned out blue in every picture. We didn't know why. But I think I figured it out today. The curtain that was in front of the window (but pulled back for the light) was reflecting the blue onto it. So weird. We took pictures and even stayed to take more during the other class since the teacher let us. After that we went to the library and I pretty much bummed around on my own laptop, enjoying fast internet. She did some stuff on photoshop I think. I ate a sandwich and decided to go back on the bus since she didn't really need my help after that.
So the bus didn't come for some reason but the next one did and I got back around 2. I took a nap until dinner at 6:30 which was sausages, buns, and fried onions. Not bad. Aussies love their sausages. Kind of like a brat and hotdog mixed. (they don't have those really)
Then I had to do the dishes and then went upstairs. I really wanted to get out of the house tonight so I said that. I ended up going to Max Brenner's again with Lauren who drove, Susanna the RA, Vivian, and Angela. Four girls to one guy, reminds me of Bethel's ratio. That's how I roll.
We drove to the train station instead of the actual place this time, so parking would be easier. My travel pass worked and we hopped on a train to Paramatta. This weird, slightly drunk (so he said) kid about my age sat in our car and made weird conversation with us. He mentioned a car crash that made him lose his sense of taste and smell. He got off at our stop and I was relieved that he didn't follow us. As we were walking to the restaurant, my travel pass wasn't accepted. It says to see the attendent for help. It was 9:30 and no one was in sight. Everyone else got through. I ended up hopping over the baricade.
It was a longer line than last time at Max's. I was going to get a mint chocolate flavored hot chocolate (next time if I go) which is the same as last time only I got an italian thick hot chocolate with dark chocolate. But same form. I decided to get a different thing and went with my first frappe ever, a Peanut Butter iced chockie. It was amazing except for the huge fly flying around me towards the end. And I got a bunch of peanut butter in my mouth at once that wasn't sweet at all, and left a nasty aftertaste. And it was difficult to drink towards the end. Vivian took pictures again (I took a few too with her camera) so they'll be up soon probably. In the restaurant there was a pipe on the ceiling overhanging everything and I didn't notice it last time. It said "100% Pure Chocolate --->" and my jaw dropped. Where's the fat kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
After that we had an adventure going home. My card didn't work again and this time I tried to go behind Lauren as she went through. I wasn't fast enough and slammed into them. A woman behind me was probably startled...but I ended up hopping those too. So we're walking...I looked back and saw a guy looking at me. He might've been an attendent but I duno. He didn't pursue me, I think. I couldn't check because right away because the girls noticed our train was leaving in 1 minute or something. So we all raced up the stairs 5 at a time to catch it, we ran in and made it. We sat down and talked...and talked...and talked...and then someone realized that we weren't seeing anything familiar. Hard to tell at night, you can only judge by the stops you make. They were strange ones. We found out we went the wrong direction and were waaaaaaaaaaaaay far from anything. We got off at the next "major" station which was 3 stops away from when we noticed. It was Penrith. We saw a train leaving in about 10 minutes that was going to all these stops and Stratfield (our stop) was one of them. So we waited. Then we noticed an express train was just next to that one and only went to like 6 stops and ours was also one. But it came like 8 minutes later still. So we waited for that one and ended up getting home at about 11:45ish.
I watched a podcast and The Office when we got home, had some Oreos (my nightly ritual) and milk since I have so many. Thanks again mom! <3 And did this while Aladdin was on.
Right now the thing I miss most from home is my own bed. The sheets stay on all the time, it's much bigger and I can starfish it if I want. My feet don't reach a cold metal bar at the end at home. My pillow is amazing at home. Not so, here.
Also I was reading my email devotional and it was about husband and wife reconciliation. The guy said something about his "mate" and I've been in Australia so long that I actually defaulted to the "friend" meaning of mate. That devotional was seriously messed up until I figured it out...
Now I have to get to bed because tomorrow we're off to the Blue Mountains for 2 days! I won't post any blogs but I will take tons of pictures! Cheers!
