So I slept in and woke up to a big bouquet of flowers from Bethel's International Studies Office. Those were nice.
I think I am going to submit a piece of writing for the Coeval through email. The submissions are due by the 7th of November, so I imagine that by the time they select them, I'll be home.
I also worked with someone at Bethel to figure out credits and such. I won't know for sure until it transfers, but it's looking pretty good. Interim off will be extra nice! But I will have to work...oh well.
So I went to class, got there, no computers were open in the library. Sad. They don't have many and they are all very very old so it makes the annoyance smaller. I did have to print a coversheet for my photography portfolio though. I went to class and it was pretty good. During the 20 minute break, I got my printing done luckily.
After class, I rode the shuttle home with the new driver since Bernard had to go back home, Donn. He is the one that drives the van or shuttle to Hillsong, so it's an easy transition. And plus, he knows how to accelerate and decelerate! B&M being gone also means the door that goes from the kitchen into the stairwell (happens to be next to their curtained off space where they live) is now open at night! Previously they actually locked it, so they could sleep easier. But now it's open 24/7 since they aren't around to wake up! It's a lot easier walking and convenient. And I can skip the last two steps and land on the ground with a loud thud! without waking them. Nifty. And I can eat breakfast at 11:30 on days like today when my first class is at 2, without Mariange walking around the kitchen eyeing me disprovingly for eating so late. Ah so nice. A lot of stress left with them and the bittersweetness keeps getting sweeter for the people here.
Also after class in the kitchen, I talked with Joel the cook and Ash. I guess Mariange was a control freak of the highest calibur. "On Monday you fix this. On Tuesday you fix this for them. Wednesday, make this." And so on. I think we have been eating the same meals every week since I got here. I had no idea. I knew she had a cookbook the size of a matchbox, but I didn't know we ate one meal on one day and another meal on another. It makes sense and kinda creeps me out. He said he was gonna cook a roast and she told him to use rice. Good thing he didn't! I'm so sick of rice right now. Rice, Curry, Shephard's Pie...if I never see them again ever, I will be content.
Tonight we had great pasta. I told him about my distaste for M.A.'s shephard's pie and how because it looks like lasagna, it hurts more. He said he was gonna cook lasagna next week. He is a godsend!
After that I worked on my photography stuff after watching Anderson Cooper's podcast. The dollar was at .65 but I don't think I'll get an iPod unless it takes a nosedive even further. Just not in the cards right now.
People watched a Million Dollar Baby and the Truman Show while I did my work.

Tomorrow I have to go to Kmart to get them printed nicely. And also Wesley to get a sleeve to put them in. Whee...
