Today I woke up at 9. I napped til 10. I went to get breakfast around 11 and a bunch of people were about to leave to go downtown or something, they asked if I wanted to go with. I had nothing else to do the entire day, so I did after eating.
We all rode the train and went to see the Rocks. Not sure what they are, but it was near Darling Harbor and the Opera House. I took 3 more pictures. They can be found HERE. We saw a little market place to buy souvenirs and I did buy something for one of my friends. I need to get more AUS money for when I go back. I had a Gelatissimo ice cream cone (Chocolate Mud flavored) and it was awesome. We walked around a lot and actually met up with other Americans from another program that are also studying at the same school on Monday, one was from Crown College in Minnesota.
Cameron, another guy in my group decided to buy a didgerido which is an instrument famous in AUS. The indigenous people play them. They are hollowed pieces of wood that when blown, make this unique noise unlike any other instrument. Circular breathing is not required to play, but extremely helpful. Cameron will have quite the time learning both how to breathe right and how to play well. It's exciting.
We went into a videogame/music/DVD shop also and I was surprised to find all of their things more expensive than back home.
We went back to the house and had dinner. I tried Milo which is a lot like Nesquik (chocolate milk powder) but not as sweet or chocolatey. It's normal to not stir it in fully and just eat it dried and crunchy. I liked it, but still prefer Nesquik. It's also supposed to be warmed, and I didn't.
After that we all watched X-Men 3 as a group and during it, I tried musk sticks. It's a candy they enjoy. A lot like gum but you don't keep it, you swallow. People say it tastes like soap. I didn't think so, it was sugary enough.
