First, today I went to UTS and got my photo ID for there. Spiffy. After that I went to Wesley to figure out my schedule once and for all, since the big mixup. The lecturer had another job that clashed with that time so it was moved and I couldn't take it and it made huge problems for some people, including me. So I wanted to get into a counseling class. But it turns out it's a post-graduate class. No thanks. I haven't graduated yet and I don't want to pretend to. Then I thought about maybe a theater management class, or studio management. I don't think I plan on starting my own theater company anytime soon, and I don't plan on running a studio either, so those would be a waste of my time. I was a little bummed out. There were two more options in drama. Pedagogy which is some theory and it looked very interesting, but there was a practical aspect to the class that turned me off. I would love the lectures probably, but at the end of the class they had to come up with a 45 minute workshop for a certain group of people (such as co-workers, high schoolers, kidgergarteners, old people, etc) and I will admit that scared me off. The other option was Intro to Drama. I would have loved it, but it's on Wednesdays and I don't want to rush from Wesley to UTS at all. So that's a no go. But while I was waiting to meet up with Herman, the head of the theater department and a man with an accent I couldn't place (which makes him cool), two other Bethel girls were on a break in the middle of their class.
They said they were in photography and it probably wouldn't be a problem to get in it. So far they have done a little bit but not much. And they are graded on their portfolio, so an exam isn't in the picture. That's so crazy. I ran around Wesley getting the principal's signature, the teacher of the class' signature, and it was raining and freezing outside. But oh well, I'm glad I got it done. I met the head of the Graphic Design department in the process, too.
After that, went home, dinner, and watched Kill Bill 1. Good times. But we don't have #2, so we have to rent it asap.
I'll make a separate entry about how the school system is different...
