Cid Knee

So we're here. There are 2 guys and 4 girls from Bethel (my school) here in Sydney.

It's "8:38pm" here now but I think my internal clock is about 4am now and I am about to pass out. The first flights weren't bad at all, both under 3 hours. The first flight reminded me of my intense hatred of people that sit behind you and kick the seat. The second flight reminded me of my intense hatred for pretzels. The Denver layover wasn't that bad. I got a standby ticket to go to LAX earlier so it wouldn't be as close for the next flight. I also noticed I lost the tag they gave me for my luggage claim. In the end I didn't need it, but I was so worried.

The long flight from LAX was about 14 hours. I watched Fool's Gold. I nodded off during Horton Hears a Who. So the Pope is in Sydney now. Great. And it's World Youth Day or something. Either way, there are a ton of Catholics and a ton of kids. So on the super long flight I swear it was the same 5 people going to the bathroom like 50 times during the trip. It was pretty ridiculous. I sat near the wing and had a glorious amount of legroom for stretching. It was only awkward when the flight attendants had to strap in and sit backwards, facing me for take off and landing. Oh well.

I spilled my orange juice on the guy next to me. I felt bad but I couldn't do much other than apologize and fetch napkins. I saw a little bit of Nim's Island too. The other guy in the posse I'm with watched that on the flight to LAX. He said he watched it again. True dedication to that one girl from Little Miss Sunshine. I tried watching without sound the movie with that same girl again and Ryan Reynolds. It didn't work.

So we got to the airport at 6am. I got my luggage after awhile and was relieved. We went to our housing place and ate breakfast. Then we settled in and walked to a mall. I got a plug in adapter. We did more walking after that. It's so cold here. It's their winter. Although I warmed up in the middle of the day to be about a Minnesota summer, so I can't complain.

Sydney is a mix of New York and Florida. Tropical plants like Florida, huge city/skyscrapers/busy/traffic of New York.

Sidenote: I was in Los Angeles within 2 days of E3. I don't know if I could get any closer to my dream than if I walked up to the event before getting turned down. Well, I hope it's a good one in any case...

*passes out*

For all you know, E3 might get blown up by terrorists. So count your blessings.

Apparently E3 was a huge letdown this year. I don't know, I didn't bother listening. It's almost like the recent Oscars: all the stuff you don't care about is what gets the most screentime and all the good stuff you do care about... well.... the wrong stuff gets chosen to be talked about.

At least be glad it isn't Florida weather... cause those summers are killers. The most humid things ever, and it rains a lot the same two hours every day, between 2-4 PM, and it's hot and stuffy.

Long airplane rides suck. Someone should have written you a plane letter to amuse you on the flight, and given you a book or something.

enjoy, and let us know of more shenanigans. Also, don't tell me about the future, I like to be surprised.
